Real Men Read will take place on Friday, April 26th at eight Broward County Schools. Male volunteers are needed to read to a classroom of students, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade.In Broward County, Real Men Read serves as Real Life Positive Literacy Role Models to motivate students to "be the best they can be" give books to all students to take home and add to their home library collection, and spend a fun morning with the joy of reading Real Men Read mentors are invited to visit targeted schools to share their own love of reading, to read books aloud to students in grades PK-5, and help us distribute books. As mentors read to children, students excitedly interact with the reader by sharing questions, making predictions for what will happen next in the story, and making connections to help bring the book to life. At the end of the story, before goodbyes, mentors pass out books to the children so they can take their new book home to read over and over again with their families and friends.This year the schools to choose from below are:

Volunteers must sign into the front office with a valid driver's license or Florida ID and will be escorted on campus at all times. At 8:15 AM, all Guest Readers will meet at the Selected School and Sign in at the Front Office. At 9:00 AM, Guest Readers are Assigned to Classrooms and Escorted by School Staff. And, at 9:15 AM – 9:45 AM, Real Men Read Readers in Action!
